Certification and Assurance: NSF Certification Impartiality Statement

NSF Certification is a leading provider of independent assurance and certification services to the agriculture, produce and processing industries. A key principle of certification is that the certification body operates rigorous systems to ensure the independence and impartiality of the assessment and certification process, and for maintaining strict confidentiality.

The NSF Certification directors, managers and staff recognise the importance of ensuring that all certification activities are carried out with the utmost impartiality and without conflict of interest. Systems are in place to ensure NSF Certification activities are carried out with complete objectivity and cannot be subverted or otherwise influenced. In addition, NSF Certification has an impartiality board consisting of independent individuals with a wide range of expertise and representation in the industry. The Board governs the certification activities of NSF and ensures that our activities does not constitute a conflict of interest or impacts negatively on impartiality.

NSF Certification is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditations Service (UKAS) to ISO 17065and ISO 17021 enabling us to provide a broad range of UKAS-accredited certification services. Using a recognised certification body provides added credibility and enhanced customer recognition.

Typical audit process stages are:
1. Contact your local NSF office and register your application
2. Audit (your local office will arrange an audit date and time to suit you)
3. Address any deficiencies identified at audit and submit evidence of your actions to the NSF Office. In certain cases an on-site clearance of finding audit may apply.
4. Receive your Certificate and use this to promote your business
5. Before your certificate expires contact your local NSF office to renew your certification
